Niels-Kristian Iversen won his second ever Speedway Grand Prix in Stockholm’s Friends Arena on Saturday night – beating Matej Zagar and Jaroslaw Hampel in the final.
Jaroslaw Hampel and Matej Zagar confirmed their spots in semi final 1 as Darcy Ward made a shock exit along with Andreas Jonsson. Second semi final and Iversen made a flier from gate 1 to win with Greg Hancock working his way past reserve Leon Madsen to earn his spot in the final – the 68th final of his Grand Prix career.
The final itself saw Matej Zagar make the jump with Iversen hot on his tail. A forceful inside move from Iversen put himself in the lead and was where he stayed. A second Grand Prix win for Niels Kristian Iversen and he moves himself into the top three in the world.
